Hi Kaylee ,
Thanks your welcome home email ; although there was a virus scare and the last night on the ship we experienced heavy seas , June and myself are hardy seafarers so we didn’t have any problems . some however weren’t so fortunate . As we had a very tight flight schedule back to Melbourne we chose the disembarkation option of walk off as soon as the gates were open and it went like a breeze , so that we were in a cab @ 0715 and at the airport before 0800 in plenty of time for our flight @ 0930 . WE thoroughly enjoyed our “ Bravo “ music feast and the high standard of the mostly OZ musicians and singers . The Metro orchestra was first class . Being a bit of opera fan I knew Dame Kiri was past her great days so was not disappointed at her offering unlike some people who seemed to think that she was still in her prime .
Australia has plenty of home grown talent ,and they were on show and were world class by any standards . We didn’t go to any of the special restaurants , as we were satisfied with the main one and the Windjammer . The food at these was adequate but not spectacular and the service staff of our table were V. G . Our cabin attendant ( oops our state room ) was very good . She had the unusual name of FRED – at least that what we called her . We had some luck at the Casino and came home with more U S $ than we expected . Finally our few hours touring NOUMEA was excellent ( great Tour Guide ) and we thoroughly enjoyed this sojourn of the ship . Although in my late 70”s June and myself are quite mobile and we were taken aback when we saw 8 or so wheel chairs/ walking frames etc lined up at the bus
From our point of view an enjoyable trip. Thanks for your help with all the pre trip matters.
